 NHGSFP 2022: FG To Spend N999m Per Day To Feed 10 Million Pupils

FG plans to spend a whopping sum of N999m Per Day To Feed 10 Million Pupils, in the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) 2022, the NHGSFP team lead, Aishatu Digil made this revelation on Tuesday in Abuja

A whopping sum of N999m Per Day To Feed 10 Million Pupils has been planned for, and 10million Nigerian school pupils will benefit from this gesture. The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) was created to feed pupils of primary 3 and below in unity schools across the nation

Aishatu Digil told stakeholders on Tuesday in Abuja that, the  Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouq, had obtained approval to spend N100 per pupil per day for 20 days, and 9,990,862 pupils will be fed

“Previously, we were feeding schoolchildren for N70 per child, per meal.” “This has been going on since 2016, but the president has approved a N100 upward review.”

“We are deliberating on the disbursement modalities with all stakeholders, including the World Food Programme, National Bureau of Statistics, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), ministries of agriculture, education, and others.

“Every Wednesday, we plan to have ‘Egg Wednesday,’ in which each child in the program will give one egg. Cooks receive N10 stipends, while supervisors receive N5 and N6 for micronutrient fortification.”
