The government of the United Kingdom (UK) has revealed the commensurate compensation for Nigerian teachers willing to work in the UK
Nigeria teachers who will apply for the United Kingdom Teacher’s in February 2023 recruitment will attract an annual take-home-pay of 28,000 British Pound
All teachers will be started with a salary of 28,000 British Pound or N15Million (CBN rate of 541 per pound) or N28Million (Parallel Market rate of 920 per pound) per year,
The pay increases if a teacher is posted to remote parts of the UK, for instance, teachers in remote parts of England would receive a commensurate compensation of a minimum of 28,000 British Pound and a maximum of 38,502 28,000 British Pound annually
If you are posted to other remote regions aside from London, cities like Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Liverpool. You would get a minimum of 34,504 British Pound and a maximum of 44,756 28,000 British Pound
To this end, applicants from Nigeria and other English-speaking African countries are to apply, through the Teaching Regulation Agency from February 2023.
Singapore, South Africa, Ukraine. Zimbabwe, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, and Jamaica can also apply
Things to Note
Applicants do not require initial teaching qualifications as the country offers a training program for potential migrants.
Those who apply for teaching jobs from overseas will require a work visa or other immigration status to allow them to work in the UK.
They will also need a skilled worker visa from their employer.
Teachers from all eligible countries will have to show they meet a consistent set of criteria for the award of the QTS.
Over time, this route will be opened to qualified teachers from every country outside the UK.
Academic Qualifications
A maths qualification which is the same standard as a grade four GCSE to teach children aged three to 11 in primary school,
A physics, chemistry or biology (science) qualification which is the same standard as a grade four GCSE.”
A minimum of two years of teaching experience,
A first (bachelor’s) degree from a UK or non-UK university,
An English language qualification which is the same standard as a grade four General Certificate of Secondary Education,
