Top 10 High Minimum Wage Countries to Migrate in 2023: The minimum Wage is the lowest amount of money paid to employees, it goes a long way in reducing poverty, and unemployment, increasing the standard of living, and reducing the cost of living

There are few countries where the minimum wage is high, and their standard of living becomes envious by other nation and attract significant numbers of foreigners

One positive thing about a high minimum wage is that worker morale is lifted to give in their best in their place of work, whereas countries whose minimum wage are poor attract low morale from workers

On the other hand, a high minimum wage may lead to an economic downturn, this is because, workers whose pay are low, may not afford basic necessities, as wage requirements will cause businesses to raise the prices of their products and service to accommodate labor costs.

It may also lead to increases in poverty, and unemployment, this is because low-wage workers cannot find work

Another argument made on minimum wage is that it reduces inequality, and boosts employee morale. Both Male and Female folks get the same amount of pay, thus bridging the gender gap

Above all odds, it is beneficial to migrate to countries whose minimum wages are high, to afford the basic enceintes life can offer  

As we all know, the high minimum wage is more pronounced in the western world and some parts of Asia, these are where the labors law are strong and well supported by the government

Criteria for Determining Minimum Wage

There are many criteria used in determining minimum wages across nations, some use age grades, certification, work duration, professional or formal expertise

And it is calculated before removing all deductions like taxes, annual leave, sick pay, employees’ social insurance contributions, public holidays, etc, the gross sum is what is given as minimum wage

High Minimum Wage countries

Australia | $18.29 per Hour

Australia is one of the highest Minimum Wage countries on earth, the Fair Work Commission under the Australian federal government put the hourly minimum wage at $18.29, which is tantamount to a weekly minimum wage of $694.90.

This is one of the highest paid minimum wages in the world, Australian minimum wage is determined by an employee’s location, age, and the industry he works in.

Located in Europe, Luxembourg is the wealthiest nation on earth in terms of GDP per Capita, employees above the age of 18 who are referred to as unskilled receive the minimum wage of €11.5525 monthly

Skilled employees get a 20% increase in the minimum wage.

Underaged skilled workers or employees get a 20% to 25% decrease in the minimum wage.

Belgium | $10.16 per hour

Located in Europe, Belgium is also one of the highest countries with a High Minimum Wage

Employees of 21 years and above receives the minimum wage of $10.16 per hour, which is tantamount to $1,673. Per month

The minimum wage is slightly increased to $1,718. for an employer 21 and a half years old and has spent the work duration of 6 months

The Republic of Ireland | €9.55 per Hour

Located in the United Kingdom Axis of Europe, it pays €9.55 as minimum wage per hour for workers below the age of 18.

However, employees below the age of 18 receive 70% of the official minimum wage of €9.55 per hour

Whereas an employee above 18 receives 80% of €9.55 (the minimum wage per hour) during their first year of service.

France | €9.88 per hour.

France is located in Europe also, and it pays €9.88 per hour, which is tantamount to €1,498.47. per month

The Netherlands | €9.11. per Hour

The Kingdom of Netherlands is situated in Europe and has one of the decent minimum wages on earth, it pays €9.11. per hour, which is tantamount to minimum wages of €72.83 and €364.15 daily and weekly, respectively, and  €1,578.00. on a monthly basis,

New Zealand | NZ$12.60

New Zealand pays NZ$12.60 as minimum wage to its workers of age 16 and 17, and NZ$16.50 to employees of 18-years-old or above

Germany | €8.84 per hour.

Germany has a High Minimum wage of €8.84 per hour.

Canada | C$10.85 to C$14 per hour.

Canada is one of the first North American countries with a decent and fair Minimum wage, its minimum wage varies from C$10.85 TO C$14 per hour.

19 Years and Above

The hourly minimum wage is fixed at £3.50, which equals $4.37.

18 Years Below

The hourly minimum wage is fixed at £4.05, which equals $5.05

18-20 Years

The hourly minimum wage of £5.60, which equals $6.99

21-24 Years

It has a minimum wage of £7.05 per hour, equivalent to $8.80.

25-years-old or Above

25 years old or above receive the hourly minimum wage of £7.50, which equals $9.36.
