Npower: Go back to farming- Senate president Ahmed told Nigeria youths

Npower: At a time when beneficiaries are seeking for permanency, the situation seems a rocket science to some of our law makers, though the statement is not directly relating to npower volunteers, but on a larger note, will impact on volunteers because it is the senate that will see to the passage of any bill of npower permanency, if there is any.

The president of the 9th senate, Ahmed lawan has released a outrageous statement to the Nigerian Youths, in his latest words, the told the youths to go back to farming, our pride is in farming, the nation is not producing much food because our youths are not ready to farm

This statement is coming as a result of low or poor patronage of the agricultural sector of the country, and the high rate of imported food from abroad, which has caused the country billions of dollars

Nigerian youths are not ready to farm; they are only interested in white collar jobs which are not readily available, a sad reality bedeviling the nation. see http://myeduproject.com.ng/npower-permanency-movedrop-your-signature-as-bill-goes-next-reading

Many youths have opposed this statement as “poorly conceive and careless statement” from the number three citizen of the nation. A person who studied medicine for good six to seven years should move to farming or a person who is an educationist, engineering or accounting should also go back to farming, an anonymous youth disclosed

Agriculture should be practiced in a modernize way, government should provide a mechanized system, then can you accused us of not willing to farm, a youth alleged

Similarly, payment of stipends of all beneficiaries will no longer be delayed, the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), has solved most of our challenges. We can now pay stipends without delay or hitches

Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) is a well-designed government platform that seeks to facilitates payment of any kind smoothly and faster

It is not just safe but suits a massive programme like n-power, where the number of beneficiaries is close to half of a million persons

Remita the old platform, had a lot issues and irregularities, from delay in processing, payment hitches, poor information monitoring and loss of data

The Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) had all of these sorted out, henceforth, there will be more rapid payment system in the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme (NHSFP)

Implemented by the Federal Government, the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) is aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency in public monetary administration

The Minister noted that the aggregators in the programme have been paid along with the cooks that were captured by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)
