Position of Umar Sadiya, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development over transition thus far

“As part of the transition process before eligible volunteers will be absorbed into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries, a compulsory completion of psychometric assessment would be done to determine competency and placement into various opportunities”   Hajiya Sadiya Farouq disclosed.

The Federal Government will be opening opportunities in the services and real sectors of the economy where all volunteers will be deployed.

“Despite this, the exited beneficiaries are advised to exercise more patience and await the result of the efforts being made by the Honorable Minister who is currently engaging various MDAs including the CBN and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure that the eligible exited beneficiaries are transited to government progammes or even employment where available.

We have directed Focal Persons of NSIPs in all the states to submit an updated list and details of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry”

A reminder to the Npower Officials, 27th June 1986 General Babangida introduced Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) just like Npower today, but through this Programme after a year all of the beneficiaries were employed and offered a Federal Appointment, they are still in the system uptill now. Batch A beneficiaries completed 4 years instead of 2 years in service and their device was given to them while Batch B beneficiaries completed theirs exactly 2 years and the device was not given to us Why? We ar all human (we need Justice) With due respect why can’t the Government offer us appointment letter and still want us to go back to the street. Am appealing to Mr.President and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs to just help us as the above beneficiaries during Babangida was helped. Thanks
