Npower: Umar Sadiya Faroug Under Fire, Force to Resign

Groups known as pan Nigeria group, Nigerian Patriots (NP), the Oodua United Forum,(OUF), Northern Youth Council(NYC), World Igbo People Assembly (WIPAS),  have given umar sadiya a note of quick notice to vacate her office due to  mismanagement of stimulus packages as well as for jeopardizing the Social Investment Fund

“The Nigerian Patriots described the COVID-19 pandemic and its purported fight in Nigeria by the federal and State Governments as a big scam that must not go unpunished”

Duke Olunloyo, the Chancellor of Nigeria Patriots(NP), in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the much-touted School Feeding Programme initiated by the Federal Government have failed woefully,

The groups asked the Humanitarian Affairs Minister to return the billions so far claimed to have been spent on the alleged non-existent programme.

But the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouq, in a swift response decried the lack of cooperation by some State governments in the country in getting government palliatives to vulnerable Nigerians.

“He alleged that some government officials and their cronies were using the current health challenges in the country to loot the commonwealth of Nigeria

The statement quoted the group as wondering how a government can deceive its own people and rip them off, relating it to the Abacha loot in which trillions of dollars were stolen by the dead dictator and his family.

Umar sidiya contested and rejected all the allegation made against her of maladministration of funds emphasizing that state governments’ alliance would ensure clear discharge of their directives”

“According to her, people ask questions about the Ministry’s activities with regards to interventions, a situation she said gives the Ministry concern, adding that there is a structure that all stakeholders needed to work with to ensure transparency”

“In tune with what is happening around us which people are very much concerned about the intervention that should get to the citizens of the country, we are here today to exercise one of those mandates of this ministry which is to provide effective coordination of humanitarian intervention both nationally and internationally which NEMA is leading”.

Many a time I wonder how on earth this woman became minister. She is a disaster herself and to all beneficiaries. So clueless about the activities of social intervention program. In my view, if this woman did not resign or sack, the SIP will crash soon.
