NPC Latest News Today 2024: NPC Training & Census New Date: According to the NPC latest news today, the Population and Housing Census has again raised hope for a new date for the Nigerian Census exercise
The National Population Commission has concluded plans to resume training and retraining enumerators, specialists, and stakeholders for the conduct of Nigeria’s population and housing census in 2025
NPC has fixed 2025 to conduct the postponed 2023 general census exercise, nearly two decades after the last census in 2006. This was disclosed by Nasir Kwarra, chairman of the National Population Commission
In an interactive session during the 2024 anniversary of the Nairobi Summit on the International Conference on Population and Development held in Abuja on Thursday, the NPC boss said, the census exercise will be held in 2025
His precise words “A major setback that we face is the delay in conducting a Population and Housing Census. A reliable and accurate census is fundamental for good decision-making.
“But the government, at the highest level, is committed to conducting a census, and we believe it will take place next year 2025,”
It could be recalled that over a 200Billion have been spent on printing booklet, and logistics in preparing for the Census, and in no distant time, a new date and month will be fixed for the conduct of the 2025 National Population and Housing Census
All ad-hoc staff, including Enumerators, Supervisors, and other facilitators will be trained sooner than later,
