Buhari Approves Take-Off Of The Special Public Works Programme: “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the take off of the Special Public Works Programme (engaging 774,000 unemployed itinerant Nigerians) to begin nationwide on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021. All NDE state structures are already in top gear for the take-off ceremonies”
The Federal Government 774,000 Special Public Works Programme will continue on the 15th of January, 2021, the Programme was suspended by the senate due to grey arraeas not cleared by the the Minister of state for employment
The Special Public Works (SPW) programme of the 774,000 jobs commenced today, 1st November, 2020 as planned but has to stopped after some investigation of irregularities were discovered
“The programme, designed for artisans to do public works for three months for N20,000 per month, suffered setbacks in commencement date because of internal wrangling between the minister and a former Director – General of the National Directorate of Employment, Nasir Ladan, who was sacked last week by President Muhammadu Buhari”
The programme aimed at employing 1,000 persons per Local Government Areas in Nigeria, in all the 774,000. Each persons will be Paid N20, 000 for 90 days.
