Apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme NSFAS 2024| my.nsfas.org.za; South African citizen who plans to study in 2024 can now apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme NSFAS 2024, students from poor background or those disadvantaged and are unable to fund their education are encouraged to apply with immediate effect

South African students who want to study in public universities and TVET Colleges are advised to apply now and not wait for their matric results to apply for NSFAS.

NSFAS has warned that applications will close on 31 January 2024, and there won’t be any further extension of the registration date, so make hay while the sun shines

For clarity, NSFAS provides financial aid to disadvantaged students from the poor and working class who meet eligibility criteria to study at public universities or TVET colleges.

Who qualifies for an NSFAS bursary?

Only South African citizen who plans to study in 2024 or already studying at a public university or TVET college and meet the following requirements:

Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year

Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year

Must have an email account and cell phone number.

South African citizens or permanent residents

SASSA grant recipients

Who should not apply?

Students who have already applied and received funding in previous years, have not yet graduated on their current qualification, and do not intend to change from one sector to another (TVET College to University or vice-versa).

They are automatically funded for the duration of their studies, provided they pass their modules and meet the academic requirements.
