NPower CBN NExit Loan Update: Breakdown of 2021 Supplementary Budget of N895.5B (Video)
The Federal Government Headed by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, has presented the sum of N895.5bn Supplementary Budget to the National Assembly for immediate approval, this budget is meant for The Military, COVID-19, and other small components needing attention in the country
The 2021 supplementary budget of N895, 842,462,917 will be approved any moment from now, the government will go ahead and fund and implement the budget through borrowing
In the breakdown of the N895.5bn Supplementary Budget, no money was earmarked for Npower disengaged volunteers
Npower disengaged volunteers of batch a and b must wait for the government to fully fund the CBN loan offer, which may take some time as the Humanitarian minister disclosed
“Despite this, the exited beneficiaries are advised to exercise more patience and await the result of the efforts being made by the Honorable Minister who is currently engaging various MDAs including the CBN and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure that the eligible exited beneficiaries are transited to government progammes or even employment where available”-SADIYA UMAR 2020

N895.5BN SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET 2021 SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET
THE SUM OF N770.60 BILLION WOULD BE USED TO PROCURE MILITARY EQUIPMENT
The security situation in the country is alarming, the Federal Government will be expanding the capacity of the military and defense entirely.
Over N770 Billion, about 86% of the budget would be consumed by military, leaving the 14% of the budget of for other purpose
N83.56B WAS SET ASIDE FOR COVID-19 VACCINE PROGRAMME,
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, explained that a total of N83.56 billion expenditure was set aside in the budget for COVID-19 vaccine programme, covering 30 million vaccines from Johnson and Johnson and the logistics costs related to the deployment of the vaccines.
N40 BILLION WOULD BE USED TO PAY OF HEALTH WORKERS
N40 billion was earmarked to take care of the needs for allowances to the health, education sectors and other wage related issues
About 9% of the N895.5bn Supplementary Budget will be used to payhazard allowance, salaries of Residents Doctors, payment of house officers, payment of arrears of Consequential adjustment of Minimum wage and to augment the Salary Shortfall health workers in the country
Update of the meeting between the leadership of National Assembly and other stakeholders and NARD regarding the health workers health workers in the country
The meeting was a follow up meeting to the visit of the Hon Speaker HOR to the NARD secretariat where issues of agitations as contained in the MOA signed with federal government were discussed.
These issues included;
1. Nonpayment of house officers;
It was noted that more than 95% has been paid. Payment is been uploaded for the rest as at today.
2. Payment of Salaries of Residents on GIFMIS
It was noted that most Hospital are paying percentages and some in full.
However the President raised the issue of UCH and UPTH where most residents are yet to be paid for more than four months now.
After clarification from the Minister of Finance and DG Budget who confirmed the receipt of the list of residents on GIFMIS, it was concluded that the money meant for payment should be made available to IPPIS and payment made on or before the 7th of may 2021.
3. MRTF
The Registrar of National post graduate colledge presented a budget of about 4.8billion for 2021 MRTF.
The Minister of finance was mandated to make sure the money is available in the supplementary budget including arrears of those yet to be paid 2020.
The meeting concluded that the erroneously paid should refund the exact amount paid to them to the account given as soon as possible otherwise same should be deducted from the salaries of those affected.
4. Payment of arrears of Consequential adjustment of Minimum wage.
About 20 centres are affected and payment will be made on or before the 20th
5. Abolishment of Bench fee
This has been suspended. A circular for the abolishment will be issued as soon as all administrative action regarding it has been concluded.
6. Salary Shortfall;
The CCCMDs confirmed the submission of the list of salary Shortfalls for 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the amount being about 26 billion naira. Whereas, the FMOH claimed the matter was in court, no evidence to back their claims.
After much debate, the speaker concluded that the ministry should present evidence of it been in court or do the needful even if it means spreading the payment over time.
7. Hazard allowance
The meeting noted that the discussion on this has started and that the follow up meeting was planned for this week. The speaker promised to urge the minister of labour to ensure the meeting this week as promised.
N1.69 BILLION WAS FOR THE NIGERIA COMPREHENSIVE AIDS PROGRAMME
Words of Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, regarding the CBN loan offer _NEXIT
“We have commenced the transitioning of beneficiaries from Batches A and B into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries after the completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities.
“The Federal government is committed to the continuation and expansion and as such will now begin enrolment and onboarding of a new Batch of beneficiaries.
Skills acquisition for entrepreneurship and job creation are critical for an economy that will require a boost post-COVID-19 and we are gearing up proactively for the challenge.”
It also explained that the enrollment will provide opportunities for more Nigerian youths to access the programme, in furtherance of the President’s vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty
