Six Landmark Achievements of Npower September 20th Protest

The massive protest embarked upon by batch A and B volunteers of the Npower programme is yielding the much-anticipated results within the last 48hours, there have been serious responses to the demands of the disengaged volunteers like never before

On the 20th of September, 2021, over a thousand batch A and B volunteers took to the Federal Capital City of Nigeria, to tell the Federal Government how disappointed they are regarding the CBN loan package

In a turn of event, the office of the social development and humanitarian minister was gripped with fears, thus did the needful

390,000 Volunteers Captured In NEXIT/Training begins October

According to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, the training would commence next month.

All is set for the Federal Government to commence the Npower Nexit Programme as over 390,000 ex-volunteers have been captured for the exit programme, FG confirmed

Batch A and B will officially be transformed into entrepreneurs and other meaningful economic ventures, in line with FG plans to lift 100M Nigerians out of poverty

“She disclosed these on Wednesday while speaking at the Chatham House on social development and humanitarian challenges facing Nigeria, and the government’s responses to the ongoing humanitarian and food crises in the country.

 “The exited volunteers have been put on a programme with the Central Bank of Nigeria in partnership with the ministry to prepare an exit package for them and we have gone very far in this regard.”

5 Months Stipend (N150,000) is Currently Being Paid to over 9000 Batch A and B

 “According to a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Bashir Nura Alkali, on Friday, stated that N150, 000.00 each will be paid to 9,066 volunteers, representing 5 months allowances, while the allowances of 4,955 volunteers will be withheld, pending the conclusion of further investigation”

“Following the payment system challenges faced by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, which has been overcome, the Ministry has commenced the final payment of the arrears on the few outstanding allowances of Batches A and B NPower volunteers”

 “The accounts of these 14,021 volunteers were flagged in March 2020 by the Federal Government payment system, the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), for various reasons including but not limited to beneficiaries having multiple accounts, and beneficiaries account receiving other payments such as salaries and allowances from multiple Federal Government Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) on permanent employment or for participating in other schemes. These acts violate the regulations guiding the N-Power volunteer programme and could amount to gross misconduct and corruption”

Batch C Stream 1- Work To Start 4th of October

NASIMS has clearly informed all batch C stream 1 beneficiary to hurry up in their physical verification exercise as work will fully commence October 4th and salary would be paid October end

Physical Verification is currently going on in all states and local Government Areas across the Nation and would end on the 24th of September.

The list containing over 500,000 Batch C stream 1 applicants have reached the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and all the States Social Investment Offices (SIP) Nationwide,

This will Fastrack Physical Verification and Deployment, 550,000 applicants, to their various Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)

Volunteers To Officially Register their Skills in CBN loan Portal

According to the Humanitarian Minister “People have registered onto different skills that they want to be supported and we are at the point of training these exited NPower beneficiaries on to the skills that they have chosen for themselves.

“By next month, we should start the process of training them on their preferred skills. We are working with the CBN to support them with soft loans and out of the 500,000 exited N Power beneficiaries, about 390,000 of them have successfully been accommodated into the NEXIT programme while about 109,000 are already on their way to entrepreneurship on their own even before we started the NEXIT.
