The form is for Batch A and B N-power Beneficiaries who are yet to complete their NEXIT Registration have alleged a deliberate exclusion from the NEXIT plan following the closure of the Registration portal
All volunteers that have registered are to remain patient and wait for the Humanitarian ministry for the next call to action, Umar farouq has consistently begged for perseverance on the CBN loan package, her lats wards reads:
“Despite this, the exited beneficiaries are advised to exercise more patience and await the result of the efforts being made by the Honorable Minister who is currently engaging various MDAs including the CBN and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure that the eligible exited beneficiaries are transited to government progammes or even employment where available”-SADIYA UMAR 2020
“We have commenced the transitioning of beneficiaries from Batches A and B into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries after the completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities”
5 months owed volunteer- 8900 disengaged volunteers cleared for payment
Meanwhile, volunteers not paid for 5 months still have hope of getting paid, as the Office of Accountant General of the Federation and the Humanitarian Ministry is concluding Bank statements verification within the month of August, a source close to NSIP reveals
In a question answered on the Nsip official page, a robust headway of the level of progress has been done so far regarding verification of bank statements of volunteers
8,900 volunteers will get their five month stipends any moment from now, Nkem, made this clear on 21st of April 2021. The fate of other volunteers owed will be decided after all the verifications are concluded
Over 14,200 affected volunteers have submitted their credentials and bank statements, these documents are undergoing manual verification and authentication, a complex situation that consumes time
Delay experience is owing to the manual verification of bank statements with few and limited staff strength
Affected volunteers with a legitimate claim will surely laugh last and laugh best, as the verification is a more valid evidence
Open the conclusion of bank verification verification, all affected volunteers will be paid their long-awaited 5 months stipends accordingly
Umar Sadiya Farouq, the current minister of the Humanitarian Ministry has limited capacity to play in this process, the whole bulk of this verification is solely done by the Office of Accountant General
In her precise words last year:
“I consider it necessary to give status updates regarding the outstanding arrears of stipend to the 14,200 N-power cohorts from Batch A and B,” the minister said.
“From the outset, the N-Power program was designed to run for 24 months
“Out of the 500,000 combined beneficiaries from Batch A and B, only 14,200 have 5 months outstanding stipend arrears.
“The delay in the payment of the arrears arose due to platform migration from NIBSS to GIFMIS by the Office of Accountant General of the Federation in March 2020.
“From the consolidated list of beneficiaries we received from the OAGF in September, the 14,200 beneficiaries with arrears of stipend were flagged for receiving a monthly payment from other MDAs, particularly from the NYSC
“It is possible that the 14,200 beneficiaries used their NYSC allowance bank accounts for N-Power and GIFMIS payment platform picked them for double payment.
“We have initiated State verification process with State N-Power Focal Officers.
The 14,200 affected beneficiaries will present their NYSC certificates for final verification after which we will present an updated list to OAGF to pay off their 5 monthly arrears
“All legitimate claims and those on the verified list will be paid before the end of the year”
