Borno state is the epicenter of terrorism and the “hard-hit-state” in poverty in the entire Nigeria, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs will be employing 40 youths in a pilot programme to gain relevant skills to define the future
The skills acquisition programme is aimed at “improving the general wellbeing of victims of humanitarian crisis through advocacy for social justice, inclusion as well as reducing the level of escalation of violence through canvassing for dialogue as a desired option”
“Having realized the gap inherent in the social issues such as poverty, illiteracy, youth population bulge, and other vices that could lead to violent extremism has deemed it necessary to provide vocational skill as a pilot phase to 40 unemployed youths in Borno State”
