N-power: 2 Volunteers Collapsed after Hearing Disengagement news: The tension got to the highest level among N-power beneficiaries when the leadership newspaper broke a piece of sad news to Batch A volunteers on their tray of disengagement from the program.
It was trauma, and some beneficiaries who have no other source of income collapsed after hearing the sad news, confirmed reports had it that, two beneficiaries in Benue state collapsed upon receiving the shocking news.
This is an indication that many volunteers (Batch A) were not ready and are not fully empowered to live independently should they disengage from the monthly 30, 000 naira stipend.
When N-power batch A volunteers woke up to Hear disengagement news published by Leadership news media (1/20/2020) many volunteers were traumatized by the disengagement news.
Even Batch B volunteers felt bitter as the same treatment awaits them

Apparently, the minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development Umar Sadiya Faroug have swung into action to address the matter. In NTA good morning Nigeria, she urged Batch A beneficiaries to wait for an official statement from the Federal government
In her right words “We have not disclosed or made any official announcement on disengagement, disregard any malicious information and be focused in your Place of Primary Assignment.
However, we will keep you appraise, when the presidency and the National Social Investment have strategies for an exit package, that will see that, young promising graduates are not pushed to the street
We know what it means to take you back to the street; we fully understood national security matters. The presidency has pledged to remove more than 100 million Nigerians from strict poverty. It will be wrong to do otherwise”
