5 months Backlog: 5 Reasons Npower Volunteers Should Be Worried

5 months Backlog: 5 Reasons Npower Volunteers Should Be Worried: Over 14,200 Npower volunteers may not be paid as promised earlier by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Umar Sadiya Umar through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF)

The problem of more than 14,200 Exited Npower volunteers started when the GIFMIS platform rejected some volunteers of the Npower programme for the reason of being on “another government payroll”, a claim yet to be defined

The of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development cleared only 8900 volunteers in early April, till then, no news, no words on the latest development

The Minister admitted to being less involved in stipends payment, as the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) is now responsible for stipends payment

There are many unanswered questions here

No Information From OAGF & Humanitarian Ministry

There has been no information from both the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, headed by Umar Sadiya Umar and the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) regarding the 5 months owed stipends

No one is coming out to officially update affected volunteers of the month’s backlogs, volunteers flaunt social media to air their views, but all their cries fall on deaf ear, as the matter is not giving the attention it deserves

Verification and Bank Statement Submitted– Not all verified

As ordered by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Umar Sadiya Umar through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), affected volunteers have already verified their details and submit their bank statement, yet their stipends are not paid them

All other requirements needed to process their five months owed stipends have been done by all affected volunteers but no action is taken, no confirmation of their documents received

Lately, only few (8,900) volunteers’ bank details were verified, living large numbers out of the equation

Federal Allocation for previous Months Shared

The Federal Government has received her share of the Federal Allocation for April 2021, yet the promised to pay volunteers has not been fulfilled

The office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) confirmed receiving April Allocation, but no instruction is given to GIFMIS to pay all the cleared 8,900 out of 14,200 volunteers of their hard-earned stipends

Volunteers of Some Government Programmes Have Been Paid for Months

‎‎FMARD PACE-FARMERS’ ENUMERATORS have been paid for months, the Agric Minister, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nano promised to pay enumerators on 23rd December 2020,

Not only where they paid, but about 30,000 enumerators were also given permanent appointment, the 5 months backlogs to Npower volunteers is yet to see the light of the day
