Npower:  5,781 Exited, 25,998 placed on Hold as EFCC Looks for absconders

Npower: According to sun news, the Federal Government has decided to act against beneficiaries who abscond or play truancy from their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)

It was a bad day as some beneficiaries who had been absconding or playing truancy found them-selves forcefully exited from the Npower programmes they applied for.

The Federal Government forcefully exited over 5, 781 N-power beneficiaries for truancy and for absconding.

According to Mr. Afolabi Imoukheude, who is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President Mohammadu Buhari on Job Creation and Youth Employment, stated this in Abuja while addressing the beneficiaries.

Afolabi Imoukheude disclosed that, so many complaints were received from across the 36 states and Abuja, over lackadaisical attitude, truancy and absenteeism from some beneficiaries. Even before exiting them forcefully, they were given letters to report themselves to their PPA, but many fail to avail themselves. Thinking no one is watching them

5,781 Exited, 25,998 placed on Hold as EFCC Look for absconders

So the government swung into action to exit them, Probably, many might have gotten another opportunity elsewhere, or death might have taken them

In Mr. Afolabi Imoukheude precise words “When we get report of people who play truancy we usually place you on payment hold. In N-power you learn, work and earn. If you do not do the right thing and you are paid, you are stealing the money. Note that the funds are not mine but that of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, said volunteers have been warned countless numbers of times on this same issues, but some are hell bent to abscond

He said “We have been receiving enormous complaints that a lot of you no longer go to work. The head teacher in your Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) is your Buhari and has the responsibility to teach, monitor and educate you.”

Mr. Afolabi also warned beneficiaries to who abscond or play truancy to know the the terms and conditions attached to be an N-power programme, when the full weight of the law hits you, there will be no mercy or plead that can revert it, he added

Over 5,781 beneficiaries sacked, this should be a warning to other, and he said “There have been so many insinuations around ghost workers in N-power. There is no ghost workers in N-power, there cannot even be because having conducted a physical verification and confirming those who come into the programme for them not to exist”

EFCC To Pick Absconders

In Another development, many beneficiaries who might be absconding or playing truancy are already placed on hold, detail investigations and findings are ongoing, if caught on the web, and they will be exited promptly without any further delay

The Federal government has given directives to the Anti-graft agencies (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offence Commission) to dime their searchlight against any beneficiaries who take the Npower programme with a pinch of salt .
